 Gamekeeper's New Patent Hawk Kite. A fantastically rare item, made from waxed linen lightweight cloth, with original cane supports. Sold as the 'Improved Hawk Kite' in catalogues from the turn of the last century. Used to fly over the stubbles or moor, to encourage coveys of partridges and grouse laid low allowing shooters to get within range before lifting. Part of the original, labelled paper packaging is remarkably still with this item.
