A rare pocket Game Counter or Norfolk Liar, used for counting numbers of shot game. Graduated with four clicker dials; one each for hares, rabbits, pheasants and partridges with the species written in French: lievres, lapins, faisans and perdrix.
These pocket Game Counters were used to keep tally of shot game, and give bragging rights amongst shooters - and no doubt one or two extra clicks were made hence the nickname ‘Norfolk Liar’!
