C1820 Bullock Humane Man Trap
An amazing survivor, made in West Bromwich by Bullock & Co. Man traps were outlawed in 1827. This has a locking mechanism that connects to a ratchet pair of bars meaning the captive poacher could only be released by the holder of the keys.
Keys present, locks untested. Setting cross has been produced later to illustrate its mechanism, not original. Black painted finish.
