Fine Swaine & Adeney Horse Measuring Stick.
A fabulous item, amazing it exists, in fine condition. Curved ash stick with silver hallmarked mounts, the bottom ferrule cap being stamped clearly SWAINE. Boxwood sliding measure for metres and hands (up to 17 hands) with fine brass horizontal brace with levelling bubble, to measure the height of the horse or pony at the shoulder. Stamped ESA for Edward Swaine Adeney, hallmarks for 1958.
